It Is No Secret (What God Can Do) What he's done for others, He'll do for you.
It Is No Secret (What God Can Do)
It Is No Secret (What God Can Do) was written in 1950 by Stuart
Hamblen, one of the earliest singing cowboys of radio and film who later
became a devoted gospel songwriter. The song grew out of Hamblen’s own
spiritual transformation and a late‑night conversation with his friend John
Wayne, who encouraged him to turn his testimony into music.
Hamblen recorded the song first, but it was Jim Reeves whose
smooth, tender voice carried it into worldwide recognition. Reeves’ version
became a beloved classic, and soon the song was embraced by many well‑known
artists, including Elvis Presley, Jo Stafford & Gordon MacRae,
Rosemary Clooney, and Kate Smith.
Across generations, the song has remained a gentle reminder of God’s open‑armed
mercy: what He’s done for others, He’ll do for you.
In every verse,
it whispers the same truth: God’s mercy is not a secret — it is a light that
finds us even when we cannot find ourselves.
If every person in the world was inspired by God, it would be a much better world. Don't listen to the screams of our world, listen to the whispers of creation from God.
