My visions of Events in Jesus Christ's Life. Healing at Bethesda, Transfiguration, and Crucifixion.
The Healing at Bethesda John 5:1-15 NIV - The Healing at the Pool - Some time - Bible Gateway
In Jerusalem, near the Sheep Gate, lies a pool called Bethesda—meaning House of Mercy—surrounded by five porches where the sick, blind, and paralyzed wait for healing. Tradition holds that an angel stirs the waters, and the first to enter is healed. Among the crowd is a man who has been disabled for thirty-eight years, unable to reach the water in time.
Jesus approaches him—not with ritual or spectacle, but with a piercing question:
“Do you want to be made well?”
The man explains his helplessness, but Jesus bypasses the pool entirely. With divine authority, He says:
“Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
Instantly, the man is healed.
This miracle, performed on the Sabbath, stirs controversy among religious leaders. Yet it reveals Jesus as the true source of healing—one who sees, speaks, and restores beyond tradition or timing.
The Transfiguration of Jesus Matthew 17:1-9 NIV - The Transfiguration - After six days - Bible Gateway
Six days after foretelling His suffering, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a high mountain. There, He is transfigured before them—His face shines like the sun, and His clothes become dazzling white. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appear, speaking with Jesus, symbolizing the Law and the Prophets bearing witness to Him.
Overwhelmed, Peter suggests building shelters for each of them, but a bright cloud envelops them, and a voice from heaven declares:
“This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
The disciples fall facedown in fear, but Jesus gently touches them and says, “Get up. Don’t be afraid.” When they look up, only Jesus remains.
As they descend, He instructs them not to tell anyone until after His resurrection—hinting at the deeper mystery yet to unfold.
The Divine Purpose of Jesus Christ’s Crucifixion and Resurrection
God, in His infinite mercy, entered creation as a human being—Jesus Christ, His Son—conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. This miraculous incarnation fulfilled ancient prophecies and marked the beginning of a divine rescue mission.
Jesus lived a sinless life, embodying perfect love, truth, and obedience. Yet He willingly embraced crucifixion, offering Himself as the ultimate atonement for humanity’s sins. His death was not a tragic end, but a sacred transaction: the innocent bearing the weight of the guilty, so that creation might be reconciled to its Creator.
On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, triumphing over sin, death, and the grave. At that moment, the earth quaked and the veil of the temple—symbolizing the barrier between God and humanity—was torn in two from top to bottom. This dramatic sign declared that access to God was now open through Christ alone.
His resurrection is the cornerstone of Christian faith, affirming His divine identity and securing eternal life for all who believe. Through Jesus, God’s justice and mercy meet, and the story of redemption unfolds in glory.
The Holy Spirit can be seen in the wind as the leaves fall?
“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
